“The Prime Minister, Mrs. Najlaa Bodden Ramadan, today Thursday, July 27, 2023 in the city of culture in Tunisia, the capital, opened the national seminar to announce the launch of the course of preparing a national business plan and human rights, through a recorded speech.
The Prime Minister confirmed in her speech that Tunisia’s accession to the “United Nations Guidelines for Business and Human Rights” is the product of a firm will and clear vision of the world to establish a comprehensive and integrated university approach to the promotion of human rights, where this approach is not limited to a certain category of rights but gives an important status to economic and social rights And the environment.
She pointed out that this initiative, undertaken by the General Directorate for Relations with Constitutional Bodies, comes in the framework of the outputs of the Fourth Comprehensive Periodical Review of Human Rights that our country completed in November 2022, which emphasized that “human rights are cosmic, comprehensive, interconnected, inseparable and cannot be in any form.” “Forms ensure enjoyment of civil and political rights without guaranteeing economic, social and cultural rights, including the right to development.”
The Prime Minister also expressed Tunisia’s readiness to act on “Work and Human Rights Guidelines” approved by the Human Rights Council of the Nations on June 16, 2011 in order to devote reconciliation between institutions, whether private or public, and their environmental and social environment by contributing to the path of sustainable development and good governance, and achieving the budget And the balance between economic activities, the achievement of growth, and the guarantee and promotion of human rights.
Madam Prime Minister pointed out that the launch of this initiative coincides with all countries of the world celebrating seventy-five (75) years since the publication of the International Declaration of Human Rights, which Tunisia will celebrate like the rest of nations, and constitutes a new opportunity to stabilize and value the gains of the private sector, as a major influencer in wealth creation and the valuation of capital Humanity, and that through this project our country aspires to develop approaches so that human rights are a catalyst for development, wealth creation and a guide to innovation and renewal.
