Slovenia – Trade

Principle 9 – Adequate Domestic Policy

Common trade policy falls within the exclusive competence of the European Union, a member of which is also Slovenia, and therefore Slovenia does not conclude preferential trade agreements with other countries. The latest trade agreements contain sustainable development provisions, which require that the signatories respect workers’ rights by acceding to ILO conventions, to protect the environment and to observe the provisions contained in the OECD Guidelines for multinational enterprises.
